OUR MISSION. OUR PASSION. OUR DREAM
Ohana Board Shop was created by husband and wife team, Arun and Anne-Michelle Frances in 2005. It was built on Arun's childhood dream: to create a local surf and skate shop where people from all walks of life and all levels and abilities are welcome. More than just a retail store, Ohana is a stomping ground that offers support and education for families purchasing their first surfboard, skateboard, or wake surf board who are committed to the outdoors, sharing life within a community, creating bonds among new friends, and satisfying a desire to ride every board possible. A place where locals can talk about their latest waves and travelers can share tales about their surfing adventures. Where little groms have a shop to grow up in and seasoned customers always have a place to call home.
Not just another skate and surf shop | Ohana means connection, community. Ohana Board Shop is where you'll find both.
Ohana Board Shop is not just any board shop. It is a community where beginners learn how to ride and former surfers are persuaded to return to their roots. Arun teaches couples how to surf, campers how to wake surf, and adults how to take a break from the busy-ness of Silicon Valley. Everyone starts out as a beginner, and Ohana is here to help you with the gear required to get you up and out. The owners and employees pride themselves in only selling products that stand the test of time. Same goes for their hard goods, soft goods, accessories, and especially the OHANA apparel line. When you visit Ohana, you join the family!

How We Create Community at OHANA
Our mission and purpose is to get families outside and to take the intimidation out of trying a new sport for the first time. We create community at Ohana with our monthly skate park rentals, our demo days at the lake during the spring, summer, and fall, and by activating our local artisans to show our love and support. When you support small businesses, we can support small businesses, too! Love your Ohana.
